The Lilly Bloom Co Story 🤍

Hi, I'm Alicia, founder of Lilly Bloom Co.

The story of Lilly Bloom actually started with my slight obsession with candles… and the amount of money I was spending on them every month!

I absolutely love a beautiful home fragrance and would regularly buy luxury candles from well-known high-street brands. Eventually, my partner decided enough was enough! Instead of watching me spend another small fortune on candles, he bought me a home candle-making kit and said, "Why don't you try making your own?"

And that's exactly what I did.

What started as a bit of fun in our kitchen very quickly became something I completely fell in love with. I started learning everything I could about candle making — experimenting with wax, testing fragrances, trying different wicks and spending countless evenings pouring, burning and testing until I was happy with the result.

That little candle-making kit eventually became Lilly Bloom Co.

Luxury fragrance, without the luxury price tag

From the beginning, I wanted Lilly Bloom to stand for something simple:

Beautiful, luxury-feeling home fragrance should be affordable.

I wanted to create candles that look beautiful in your home, smell incredible and give you that same little feeling of luxury you get from the big high-street brands — without the big high-street price tag.

Today, every Lilly Bloom candle and wax melt is still lovingly hand-poured in small batches using our CocoSoy wax blend and carefully selected fragrances.

We've gone from pouring our first candles in the kitchen to having our own little garden studio, attending artisan markets, building an amazing community of customers and seeing our fragrances become part of people's homes.

And just six months after starting this little adventure, Lilly Bloom Co was shortlisted as a finalist for Best Home-Based Business at the UK Small Business Awards 2026 — something I still can't quite believe!

What started because I spent far too much money on candles has turned into a small business I'm incredibly proud of.

But no matter how much Lilly Bloom grows, the idea behind it will always remain the same:

Luxury candles. Beautiful fragrances. Hand-poured with love. Without the luxury price tag.
