From Our Kitchen to Award Finalists – Lilly Bloom Co’s Biggest Pinch Me Moment Yet!

We have some incredibly exciting news to share…

Lilly Bloom Co has been named a 2026 finalist for Best Home-Based Business at the UK Small Business Awards! 🏆✨

Even writing those words feels a little surreal.

It All Started With a Candle…

Lilly Bloom Co started just six months ago, quite literally from our kitchen.

What began as a hobby and a love for beautiful home fragrance quickly became something much bigger. We started experimenting with fragrances, testing waxes, perfecting our candles and wax melts, and learning everything we possibly could about creating products that we would be genuinely proud to put the Lilly Bloom name on.

There have been plenty of late nights, countless test burns, fragrance samples, label changes and moments where the kitchen looked more like a candle factory than a kitchen!

But slowly, Lilly Bloom began to grow.

From the Kitchen to Our Little Garden Studio 

 Before long, we outgrew the kitchen and moved into our very own little studio at the bottom of the garden.

Every Lilly Bloom candle and wax melt is still handmade and hand-poured by us, with so much care going into every single product.

From choosing our fragrances and pouring the wax to labelling, packing and getting orders ready for our wonderful customers – we are involved in every step.

We then took another huge leap and started attending local artisan markets, meeting our customers face-to-face and introducing more people to Lilly Bloom Co.

Seeing people come back to our stall because they’ve fallen in love with one of our fragrances will never get old.

And Now… We’re Award Finalists! 🏆

To go from making candles in our kitchen to being recognised as a finalist for Best Home-Based Business in such a short space of time is something we are incredibly proud of.

Small businesses are built on so much that people don’t always see.

Behind every finished candle is the testing, the pouring, the cleaning, the packing, the markets, the social media posts, the website updates, the early mornings, the late nights and the occasional “what on earth are we doing?!” moment.

But then something like this happens, and it makes every single one of those moments worth it.

Most importantly, this recognition belongs partly to you – our customers and supporters.

Every order, follow, like, share, recommendation and visit to our market stall has helped our little business grow.
